About USA Dance

We are a nationwide, non-profit organization of volunteers who love ballroom and partner dancing. The USA Dance mission is to "increase the quantity and the quality of ballroom dance in the United States." We do this by promoting both social dancing and DanceSport, the competitive side of ballroom dance.

Social Dance

From the national USA Dance Social dance website: "Our mission is to "increase the quantity and the quality of ballroom dance in the United States." We do this by organizing and supporting programs for the recreational enjoyment of ballroom dancing by people of all ages and to create affordable opportunities for the general public to participate in ballroom dancing in communities all across the country. A related mission is to educate the public regarding the physical, mental, and social benefits of engaging in a regular program of ballroom dancing."

DanceSport

From the national USA Dance website: "For DanceSport, USA Dance is the official member organization of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and the U.S. member of the world governing organization, the International DanceSport Federation (called the IDSF), which is the official global member organization of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Along with the IDSF, USA Dance has the sustaining mission to gain national and global acceptance for DanceSport as an official medal sport in the Olympic Games."

We are one of the more than 100 local USA Dance Chapters. We greatly appreciate the excitement and romance, as well as the social and health benefits that ballroom dancing brings into our lives.
